About Us
Our farm is located in S.E. Michigan between Manchester and Chelsea. We began using the kennel name "Speedway" when we lived in Brooklyn, MI which is the home of Michigan International Speedway. We no longer live quite as close to the track but we continue to use "Speedway"as our farm/kennel name. In the past we have owned and trained dogs to titles in show, field and obedience. Currently Kay does the obedience training. Mike does most of the field training. Mike also judges field trials. We have owned and competeted with German Wirehaired Pointers for over 30 years. We have also been members of the German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America and Fort Detroit German Wirehaired Pointer Club for as long as we have owned wires. Our wires are also hunted on grouse and pheasant. Our dogs have always been part of our family. Two years ago we acquired and began showing miniature horses. After attending Pinto shows for many years as the support crew for our daughter, we decided we wanted some of the fun of showing. The minis fit the bill. Our minis compete in both halter and performance classes in both AMHR and Pinto shows.
